Migration and the rural south

Migration is the tablecloth upon which human history is served. Where people choose to live, eat and play has had a tremendous impact on the past, present and future state of humanity. Thusly, for policymakers tasked with the job of managing the present and the future, the importance of migration and its factors cannot be understated. As the South's population balloons, it is vitally important for policymakers to understand what motivates people to live where they live. Just as important is the well-being of those who are born into more rural parts of the South. Where a person is born should not determine with absolute certainty that they will start life at a quality of life disadvantage. Gathering insight into which factors drive people to move in certain parts of the South and what kind of attributes push them away is extremely important.
